One person is dead and two people were taken to hospital following a collision between a semi-tractor and off-highway vehicle (OHV).

Slave Lake RCMP responded to the crash on Highway 754 around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, a news release said Monday. Early investigations have found the semi, carrying a trailer of logs, and the OHV were both travelling west on the highway when a collision occurred.

Police said the OHV veered into a ditch and rolled onto its roof. Its driver, an 18-year-old man, was taken to hospital where he died from his injuries. A man and a woman who were passengers in the vehicle were taken to hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.

Police are continuing to investigate.
