The provincial government’s website currently has 25 Edmonton schools listed as an outbreak or being watched, a designation given to a school with five or more cases.
Meanwhile, an outbreak at the Millwoods Long Term Care Centre appears to be contained to the third floor, according to a Wednesday statement by Shawn Terlson, president and CEO of Good Shepherd, on the operator’s website. Terlson said there have been no cases confirmed in other floors and residents and staff members at the facility will be retested.
A total of 23 residents and 11 staff members at the facility have tested positive. Two residents have died and one staff member has recovered.
Terlson said a contractor hired by a resident at the Eden House has tested positive for COVID-19 but was never on site while symptomatic. Residents and staff have been tested and so far all tests have come back as negative.
