Edmonton man charged after multiple firearms seized from stolen vehicle

An Edmonton man is facing numerous charges after multiple weapons were seized from a stolen vehicle last week.

On Sept. 23, at about 11 p.m., a St. Albert RCMP officer observed a Ford Explorer in an unlit area of the Century Casino parking lot with the driver inside. The officer went over to investigate and determined the vehicle was stolen.

The man driving the the vehicle was arrested. Inside, police noticed new household items still in boxes along with ammunition for a shotgun. The registered owner of the Ford Explorer told RCMP none of the items in the vehicle was theirs, and asked them to remove and secure the items.

Officers retrieved a Remington 12 gauge 870 shotgun which was loaded, a 3 Huntgroup Arms shotgun, a Ranger shotgun, ammunition, a metal baton, drugs believed to be heroin, jewelry, money, a security safe, numerous electronics and household goods, audio equipment, cellphones, police equipment including a tactical vest, numerous sets of keys, drug paraphernalia, a buck knife and tools.
