Woman taken to hospital with serious injuries after Monday morning stabbing

A woman suffered serious, non-life-threatening injuries after a reported stabbing Monday morning.

At about 9 a.m., Edmonton police responded to an address on Brintnell Boulevard for a trouble unknown call, said spokesman Scott Pattison in an email.

When officers arrived, they found a 24-year-old woman in medical distress. It was reported to police that a man assaulted the woman with a “sharp-edged weapon.” The man was quickly found nearby and taken into custody.

Police could not confirm what kind of weapon was used.

The woman was taken to hospital and charges are pending against the man.
