Homicide detectives investigating suspicious north Edmonton death; two face second-degree murder charges in Beaver Lake Cree Nation killing

Homicide detectives are investigating the suspicious death of a man found in a north Edmonton home on Wednesday.

Officers were notified around 2:30 p.m. that a man’s body was found in a home near 133 Avenue and 90 Street, police said in a Thursday news release. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

Police are asking anyone who saw unusual activity on security or dash cam footage taken in that area to contact them or Crime Stoppers. No other details have been released.

Meanwhile, Alberta RCMP’s major crimes unit has arrested and charged two men from Lac La Biche with second-degree murder in a suspicious death on Beaver Lake Cree Nation last Saturday.

Conrad Oliver Boostrom, a 41-year-old man from Lac La Biche, was found dead after officers responded to a call about shots fired at a home. The RCMP’s emergency response team, police dog teams, and Lac La Biche RCMP helped make the arrests.

Tyrone Jake Deschambeau, 28, was arrested Tuesday and is charged with second-degree murder.

Wayne Ryan Blood, 37, was arrested on Wednesday and is charged with second-degree murder.

Both men were remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear at Lac La Biche Provincial Court on Monday.
