Edmonton police lay manslaughter charge in November 2020 homicide

A 45-year-old man is facing manslaughter, robbery and firearms-related charges in connection to a November 2020 homicide.

At about 4:45 a.m. on Nov. 11, 2020, Edmonton police responded to a weapons complaint and found Darrin Dean Cross, 37, dead at a home near 120 Avenue and 102 Street.

An autopsy determined Cross died of a gunshot wound and his manner of death was homicide.

On Thursday, investigators charged Sheldon Blyan, 45, with manslaughter with a firearm, robbery with a firearm, and additional firearms charges.
