Edmonton weather: I survived winter storm 2022 and all I got was this lousy t-shirt

Article content

Tuesday morning temperatures at the Edmonton Blatchford station are -20.4 C with 14 km/h winds coming out of the north, northwest contributing to a -29 wind chill.

Well, I’m glad that’s all over (I think).

The wind last night was howling so hard I could hear the windows in my bedroom buckling constantly throughout the night. If I wasn’t so darn tired from my dogs persistently waking me up at 4 a.m. these days I wouldn’t have slept a wink.

While the storm itself has subsided — ECCC has since removed its winter storm warning for the area — we’re still left with some pretty cold temperatures and wind chills near -30. Yes, this again. Thankfully, it looks like this will be a momentary thing as forecasters are calling for things to progressively warm up tomorrow with a high of -14 C, which I think we can all agree is pretty manageable, and then we’re right back above zero Thursday with a forecast high of 3 C.
