A 22-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection to the August 2021 death of an Edmonton man.

At about 2:15 a.m. on Aug. 16, Edmonton police responded to a trouble not known call in the area of Whyte Avenue and 105 Street. When officers arrived, they found 24-year-old Andrew Bellerose in critical condition. Despite help from citizens and paramedics, he died at the scene.

In November, police issued a second-degree murder warrant for 22-year-old Brookes Buffalo in connection to Bellerose’s death.

On Tuesday, city police announced Buffalo was arrested and charged earlier in the day at an Edmonton home.
