Edmonton police seek man suspected of attempted murder, aggravated assault

City police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 52-year-old man suspected of attempted murder and aggravated assault that took place Friday morning.

At about 7 a.m. Friday, officers were called to a home in the area of 140 Avenue and 21 Street after a report of an assault with a weapon, Edmonton police said in a news release.

It was reported a 52-year-old woman was slashed in the neck outside her home. A neighbour came to help and called 911. EMS responded and transported the woman to hospital with life-threatening injuries. She remains there in stable condition.

Barton Lohouse, 52, has warrants for his arrest for attempted murder and aggravated assault.

Police believe Lohouse is armed and dangerous, and may pose a threat to himself. Lohouse is described as five-foot-10 and weighs about 170 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information on where Lohouse is located is advised not to approach him and to immediately call police at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
