One-hour tours of up to 15 people will launch July 25 and run every Saturday and Sunday until Sept. 27. Depending on demand, additional tours may be added on weekdays, Hansen-Carlson said. Five tours will run each day, every hour and a half, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The tours, operated by Big E tours, will take residents through the Indigenous story of the Rossdale area, the story of the city and the history of the building as they travel throughout the structure, Hansen-Carlson said.

Some additional safety measures had to be added while working with Epcor, the building owner, to ensure it was safe for residents to enter it this summer. But the building is not up to code, so guests under 15 years old won’t be permitted.
