Re. “NDP calls for health minister’s ouster,” March 28

If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen. This old saying has application to Alberta’s minister of health, Tyler Shandro. As reported in the Edmonton Journal, Shandro was observed crying and yelling while confronting a physician on the driveway of his home.

If Shandro cannot take the pressure or difficulty of a situation, then he must do the honorable thing. Resign, and let someone else assume the responsibilities of the portfolio.

During times of extreme stress and crisis, leadership gets sorely tested. Shandro failed the test. We need leadership that sets an example for all of us.

No excuse for Shandro’s conduct

Thanks to Health Minister Tyler Shandro’s very public and very inappropriate neighbourhood meltdown, we are now aware that Andrea Shandro, wife of Health Minister Shandro and her sister, co-own a private health-care insurance company. Is this not a conflict of interest for Health Minister Shandro?
