Watch: Finance officials had doubts about Premier Jason Kenney’s $4.7-billion tax cut says Rachel Notley

Alberta NDP leader and Leader of the Official Opposition Rachel Notley said an Alberta Treasury Board and Finance briefing note shows provincial officials had serious doubts about Premier Jason Kenney’s $4.7-billion tax corporate tax cut during the 2019 provincial election.

The United Conservative Party pledged to reduce the corporate tax rate from 12 per cent to 8 per cent over four years during the election. Once the party won the election, reductions began yearly, with the rate dropping to eight per cent by 2022.
