The Palestine tent is making the most of their first chance to take part in the Heritage Festival. Their pavilion will feature cuisine including a falafel pita sandwich and hummus dip, as well as a performance of dabkeh — a traditional Palestinian folk dance — every day at noon.
“The whole Palestinian community is really, really excited,” said Mousa Qasqas, vice-president of the Canada-Palestine Cultural Association.
A total of 73 pavilions setup in the park will offer food, music, crafts and dancing from cultures all across the world.
